Neutron resonance spectroscopy: aluminum

1975
The results are presented for high resolution neutron time of flight measurements on $^{27}\mathrm{Al}$ from 4 to 420 keV. The $R$-matrix multilevel shape analysis was used to obtain the resonance parameters for seven levels to 220 keV. We determined the strength functions as $10^{4}S_{0}=({3.25}_{\ensuremath{-}1.7}^{+4.5})$ and $10^{4}S_{1}=({1.8}_{\ensuremath{-}1.1}^{+3.5})$. A channel radius of 4.2 fm was used in the calculation of $p$-strength function. The (${E}_{0}, l, J, {\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{n}$) choices were (5.895, 1, 1, 0.017), (34.59, 0, 2, 3.0), (85.69, 0, 3, 11.0), (119.6, 1, 2, 3.6), (142.0, 0, 3, 19.0), (158.2, 1, 3, 3.2), and (202.2, 0, 2, 14.5), where ${E}_{0}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{n}$ are in keV.
