In blood of children with bowel inflammatory diseases (IBD) we assessed the concentration of some substances, which play a key role in an autoimmune process, an inflammation phenomenon: nitric oxide metabolites (NOx), S-nitrosothiols (RSNO), heat shock protein70 (HSP70), and proinflammatory cytokines (PIC). The data on determined concentration of agents under study show the intensity of immunopathological process activity and inflammation to be higher in children with ulcerative colitis (UC). The determination of NOx, RSNO, HSP70 concentrations in blood of children with UC and Crohn’s disease (CD) can be used to assess their condition. The findings complete the concept of IBD pathogenesis.
