Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), an extract made from the ripe berries of the American dwarf palm, is believed to have alpha1-adrenergic-blocking properties. Prodcts containing saw palmetto include ermixon, PA109, Curbicin, Prostavigol, nd Strogen forte. Saw palmetto effects have been studied or lower urinary tract symptoms of benign rostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The results of ast research have been inconsistent, with he authors of some lower-quality trials howing modest impact on symptoms such s delayed emptying, frequent urination, octuria, incontinence, and even impoence.
