Clinical randomized study on Shu-source point combination for treatment of male immune infertility

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Shu-source point combination on male immune infertility and its action on anti-sperm-antibody (AsAb). Methods One hundred cases of male immune infertility with positive AsAb were randomly divided into acupuncture group treated with acupuncture of Shu-source point combination (n=50) and medication group treated with oral administration of prednisone (n=50). After treatment of 2 courses the clinical therapeutic effect and effect on AsAb were investigated. Results The total effective rate, spermatic density, the anterior motor rate, serum or/and positive AsAb level in the acupuncture group all were significantly superior to those in the control group (P0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture of Shu-source point combination has a definite therapeutic effect on male immune infertility and can benignly regulate AsAb.
