Determining Infection Threshold of HBV Nosocomial Infection

OBJECTIVE To determine the infection threshold of HBV nosocomial infection.METHODS On base of confirming the infection dosage,infectivity intensity and the minimum infection blood volume of HBV carriers,the infection threshold of HBV nosocomial infection were determined by using series of diluted blood.RESULTS The maximum infection intensity of HBsAg positive and negative,HBeAg positive and negative is 109,104,109 and 106 ID/ml respectively,and their minimum infection blood volume is 10-9,10-4,10-9 and 10-6 ml respectively.HBV infective threshold value of single layer gloves is 105 ID/ml,and that of the double layer gloves is 106 ID/ml.HBV infection threshold with the blood volume emerged a negative correlation,and the HBV concentration with the infection threshold showed a positive correlation.CONCLUSIONS The infection threshold includes two aspects:virus concentration and the blood volume that into the body.There is a positive correlation between infection threshold and the former,while a negative correlation between infection threshold and the latter.This threshold is valuable in choosing replaceable indicators of infection source and constructing the reasonable monitoring method.
