Influence of NaCl and Ca(NO3)2 on the aggregation stability of aqueous dispersions of powdered cellulose

1997
It was shown that the aggregation stability of the powdered cellulose dispersions in aqueous solutions of NaCl and Ca(NO 3 ) 2 depends on the concentration of the background electrolyte. The results are explained on the basis of the DLVO theory, taking into account the boundary water layers surrounding the hydrophilic particles.
