Effects of the Anion Type and the Time of Administration of Lithium Salts on the Circadian Dynamics of Lithium Urinary Excretion in Rats

The introduction of lithium salts in the early phase of the circadian cycle does not alter the natural rhythm of lithium cation (Li+) elimination from the organism. In the case of administration in the late phase of the circadian cycle, all tested substances except for lithium oxybutyrate affected the diurnal dynamics of lithium concentration in the urine. Upon the early administration of lithium chloride and aspartate, these anion components of salts delayed the excretion of Li+ with the urine.
