The State-of-the-art of the Treatment of Volatile Organic Compounds with Electron Beam Irradiation

The pollution of the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in the atmosphere may do much harm to human health, ecosystem and environment. The technology is promising for treating low concentration VOCs from industrial exhausts. In this paper, the mechanism is introduced., the abroad research progress on removing typical VOC, such as, chloroethylene, benzene and PAHs etc. and the influence factors on decomposing rate are also summerized. The methods on employing catalysts and additive etc. are introduced as well, which is for the sake of reducing energy consumed and increasing decomposition efficiency. The way of futural development, application fields and its future of treating VOC with electron beam irradiation are involved in this paper..
