The method comprises the steps that when a client side of a mobile terminal has access to a server, the client side obtains an IMSI number of the mobile terminal and submits the IMSI number to the server; an interface is formed between the server and a data center, and the server initiates an IMSI number inquiry request to the data center through the interface; a mobile phone number corresponding to the IMSI number is obtained in a matching mode through the data center; according to the mobile phone number, user information of the mobile terminal corresponding to the mobile phone number is obtained, and the user information is returned to the server through the interface; the server finds the mobile application or content matched with the user information according to the user information, sends the mobile application or content matched with the user information to the client side of the mobile terminal, and therefore the mobile terminal obtains the mobile application or content. According to mobile application or content obtaining method and system, a user can obtain the relevant application and/or content more accurately and rapidly.
