Influences des rejets d'usines de pates et papiers sur les macroinvertebres, les bacteries et l'eutrophisation d'une riviere

1981
Abstract Discharges from pulp and paper factories remain among the most polluting of all industrial wastes. The impact of these discharges on a watershed is evaluated through a study of the biological, physical and chemical characteristics of the water of the St Francis river. The impact on benthic fauna is discussed and effects on the eutrophication process are discerned by sampling and identifying the different algal species. The impact on bacterial populations is revealed through a sampling of anaerobic bacteria, total coliforms and the sulphate-reducing bacteria.
