Device having at least one measuring clamp for symmetrical data cables

2012
There is provided a measuring clamp for adaptation between a symmetrical data cable with multiple pairs of conductors, in particular a twisted pair, and the asymmetric test ports of a network analyzer to measure the characteristic RF characteristics of the cable, with a bracket for fixing one end of the to measuring cable and a longitudinally expanding body with tapered formed in the jacket surface of the expanding member elongated recesses for the insertion and rotationally symmetric spreading of the pair of conductors ends of the cable, in order to achieve that the single cores and screens of the cable are properly connected, that the impact on the measurement by the Clamp are minimized without saying that the free path of the conductor pair ends is shortened without an umbrella, and that the return loss is optimized in the transitions from the cable wires to the devices connected to the clamp meter coaxial cable.
