Working Mechanism of Wet-end Chemicals

1991
Simple analogies and models help papermakers and chemists to illustrate the effects of process chemicals for their improvement and to obtain the best practical results. However, these practices are frequently not very realistic especially as far as the relative dimensions of components are concerned. If sizes of wood fibers, inorganic fillers and wet-end chemicals are magnified true to scale, surprising results are obtained, which yield valuable information on the mechanisms of these products.
