A feasibility study using wells, seismic and CSEM modeling in a Miocene reservoir, offshore Mexico

2013
Observed seismic and EM anomalies can have a number of underlying causes in terms of rock and fluid properties. Rock physics models are commonly used to better understand the underlying physics of observed log responses, how they are governed by local petrophysical properties, and how these affect geophysical observations. In this study from the Gulf of Mexico, we present an example of using rock physics and forward modelling of seismic and EM responses to better understand the ability of these data types to constrain rock and fluid properties.
