Recovery of thorium from sulphate solutions by anion exchange

1959
The passage of solutions containing uranyl and thorium sulphate through columns of De-Acidite FF strongly basic anion-exchange resin results in the initial absorption of both metals as complex anions, followed by the qualitative displacement of thorium by uranium. Thorium can be recovered separately from uranium, using a second column of the same resin in series with the first.
