Effects of the armored endotacheal tube undergoing head or neck operation

Objective To compare the effects of the armored endotacheal or the molded angle tube or the general endotracheal tube undergoing head or neck operation.Methods 120 patients undergoing head or neck operation were randomly divided into three groups(n=40):group A with armored endotracheal tube,group B with molded angle endotracheal tube and group C with general endotracheal tube.Endotracheal bending,endotracheal tube patency with suctioning,Paw,PETCO2 at different points were compared among the three groups.Results The group A was more bending than group B and group C.There were no significant differences of Paw,PETCO2 among the three groups at 10 minutes after intubation;the Paw and PETCO2 in group A were significantly different from group B and C(P0.05) at 30 minutes after the beginning of surgery.The patency of endotracheal tube was statistically significant difference between group A and group B,C(P0.01).Conclusion The armored tube has better elastic and bending.It is conducive to maintain airway patency,reduce the complications of anesthesia,and hence should be widely applied.
