Time series data analysis of measurements of supraharmonic distortion in LV and MV networks

2017
Rapid increase in the number of modern electronic devices in electrical networks (PV generators, charging stations for electric vehicles, LED-lamps, etc.) is characterized by the growth of current and voltage distortion in the frequency range over 2 kHz (so-called “supraharmonic” range). The supraharmonics can influence the network equipment and can disturb the normal network operation. Currently there are no planning or compatibility levels for supraharmonics over 9 kHz in the standards for network operators. One reason for this is that currently only few measuring devices in the world are capable to measure the supraharmonic current and voltage distortion over long time. This paper deals with the analysis of long-term measurement results obtained in LV and MV networks.
