Estimation of shear resistance of the surfaced forging dies models

In this paper is pointed to complex operating conditions of forging dies, and especially to the most frequent causes that lead to their damages and the reparation procedures by surfacing. The checking method for the strength of connection between the surface layer and base material is especially explained and the relationship between the properties of the surface layer and applied technology is established.
