Calidad de vida de pacientes con diagnóstico de esquizofrenia

espanolEstudio descriptivo con metodos de analisis cuanticualitativos para investigar la percepcion de la calidad de vida (CV), segun tipo de tratamiento, en 200 pacientes de ambos sexos de la ciudad de Punta Arenas, Chile con diagnostico medico de esquizofrenia. Se aplica el Cuestionario de Sevilla de Calidad de Vida para pacientes Esquizofrenicos. Los pacientes que obtuvieron un puntaje promedio de percepcion de mejor CV, estaban en tratamiento con clozapina y otros similares, a diferencia de los pacientes en tratamiento con decanoato de flufenazina (Modecate®) y similares. La opinion de los pacientes acerca de su CV obtenida a traves del estudio etnografico fue comparada con la percepcion de su familiar cuidador y con la de los profesionales que lo atienden en alguno de los dispositivos de la red. Los resultados permiten concluir que la percepcion acerca de su CV difiere positivamente de la percepcion que tiene su familiar cuidador, independientemente del tipo de tratamiento. Los profesionales tratantes coinciden en opinar que la CV de los pacientes mejora solo cuando son liberados de los sintomas psicoticos, independientemente del tipo de tratamiento, lo que difiere de la percepcion de los pacientes porque a ellos les afectan los efectos extrapiramidales en su CV. EnglishA descriptive study with methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis to investigate the perception of the quality of life (QL) was carried out, according to type of treatment in 200 patients of both sexes in the city of Punta Arenas (Chile) with medical diagnosis of schizophrenia. The Seville Quality of Life Questionnaire for schizophrenic patients was applied. Patients who achieved a score average of better perception of QL, were treated with clozapine and other similar, unlike patients with fluphenazine decanoate (Modecate ®) and similar. The opinion of patients about their QL obtained through the ethnographic study was compared with the perception of his family and with professionals who take care of them in any of the devices of the health system. Results show that the perception about his QL positively differs from the perception that his family caregiver has, regardless of the type of treatment. Professionals agreed that the QL of patients improved only when they were released from psychotic symptoms, regardless of the type of treatment, which differs from the perception of patients because they affect the extrapyramidal effects on their QL.
