Slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna for Dual Band and UWB Applications

2015
In this paper, a compact Microstrip patch antenna having multiple slots, which gives dual band frequencies for ultra wide band (UWB) applications is presented. Ultra wideband (also known as UWB or as digital pulse wireless) is a wireless technology for transmitting large amounts of digital data over a wide spectrum of frequency bands with very low power for a short distance. 3.1-10.6 GHz spectrum allocated for Ultra-Wideband communications. Radiating patch is placed on the FR4 epoxy substrate. It has dielectric constant of 4.4, and it provides good bandwidth. Coaxial feed technique is used to feed the antenna with 50 ohm impedance. The antenna proposed in this paper has a return loss to -21.53 dB at 3.65 GHz and -29.12 dB at 7.24 GHz. HFSS(High Frequency Structure simulate) is used to simulate the results. It shows VSWR
