SPONTANEOUS INTRAMURAL SMALL-BOWEL HEMATOMA: A CAUSE OF ACUTE ABDOMEN IN ANTICOAGULATED PATIENTS.

2021
Spontaneous intramural small-bowel hematoma is an uncommon cause of acute abdominal pain in anticoagulated patients. Recognition of this pathology is essential, as it is becoming more frequent due to the increase in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy. A suitable diagnosis based on a good anamnesis, the recognition of an abnormal blood test and characteristic findings in the imaging tests would avoid unnecessary procedures. The majority of patients will improve with conservative treatment.
