Superdeformation in {sup 152}Dy and nearby nuclei

Recent experiments using the Eurogam array have revealed a wealth of new information regarding the properties of superdeformed bands in the mass 150 region. These new results include the observation of new bands and also superdeformed band interactions. A very large data set has been obtained on {sup 152}Dy in order to search for transitions linking the superdeformed to normal states and to further investigate the entrance channel effect observed in the intensity of superdeformed states populated via different reactions. Analysis of these data is currently in progress and results to date will be reviewed.
