Característica morfológica, neuromotora e fisiológica: relações com as posições de atletas de handebol

2019
Objective. Trace the morphological profile and physical abilities of university players in handball. Materials and methods. This is a cross-sectional research, ex post facto with the participation of 18 handball university athletes, aged 19.78 ± 0.97 years, height 1.71 ± 0.02 m, span 1.79 ± 0.05 m, body mass 72.86 ± 12.30 kg and fat percentage of 10.21 ± 5.50%. Anthropometric evaluation and body composition, agility, lower limb strength through countermovement jump and upper limbs were performed by manual grip strength. Data were expressed as mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. The normality test, Kolmogorov-smirnov was used using Stata 10.0 software, with α = 5%. Results. Regarding the height, wingspan and body mass, the tips and pivots had higher values and the wings had the lowest values for bone length. Regarding the physical abilities, the goalkeeper presented significant values in the strength of the muscles of the upper and lower limbs and in agility all players had similar values, although the tips presented greater agility compared to the other positions. Conclusions. Anthropometric characteristics are found below studies involving similar teams. They presented expressive values in strength and agility, but the importance of developing these motor skills to decrease this morphological disproportionality compared to other teams is highlighted.
