Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm in a patient with Takayasu arteritis

2019
Abstract We report a successful treatment of extent III thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) complicated with steno-occlusive visceral and iliac arteries in a 27-year-old female with Takayasu arteritis. Distal first technique and a bypass to the left femoral artery was performed to maintain the pelvic circulation for spinal cord protection as the patient had right external iliac artery occlusion and left common iliac artery occlusion. In addition, we performed endarterectomy of the visceral branch orifices during the extent III TAAA repair. The patient recovered without spinal cord injury and serum creatinine improved from 1.22 to 0.53 mg/dL.
