28 GHz Notch Filter Design at Institute for Plasma Research (IPR)

2006
The development of 28 GHz filter was necessary for protecting the Electron Cyclotron Emission (ECE)-diagnostic device, Radiometer. The design and construction of a narrow (Δ f ≤ 1000 MHz) notch filter is explained. Furthermore the design procedure of 10 and 110 GHz is discussed. Also, the influence of orientation and dimensions of aperture, shape and size of the cavity, length of the wave guide, size of the screw and number of cavities used on the depth of notch and the losses in the pass band are studied and presented in this paper.
