2P-814 : Preparation of porous carbon template from pyrolysis fuel oil using CaCO 3 for lithium ion battery anode

2019
In this study, porous template materials were used to solve the problem of low C-rate performance and specific capacity for carbon anode materials of lithium ion battery. A porous carbon template has mesopore for lithium ion transfer path and storage site. Mesophase pitch was used as the carbon precursor and CaCO3 was used to form the template structure. Increasing of the CaCO3 ratio increased the specific surface area of the carbon material, which increased the reaction area with the electrolyte and finally increased the side reactions. However, these phenomena can be prevented by adjusting the step of the activation process using CaCO3. Physical properties of the manufactured composite material were investigated using FE-SEM, BET, XRD. A coin type half-cell was manufactured, and its electrochemical characteristics were analyzed.
