The aim of the present investigation was the study on raw material from pork kidneys effect on the experimental oxalate nephrolithiasis. Experiments were performed on 35 outbred male rats, which were divided into 2 groups. A control group of rats was given as drink 1% solution of ethylenglycole during 6 weeks. The rats from the second group (therapy group) were given ethylenglycole EG during 6 weeks and then were administrated raw material from pork kidneys in dose of 5 g per a rat since the 4-th week. The oxalate and phosphate ions concentrations, activity of urothelium injury marker enzymes (lactate dehydrogenase, γ-glutamyl transferase, N-acetyl-β-D-glucose aminidase), as well as the free radical oxidation activity were detected weekly in a daily urine portion of the control group of rats. The calcium ion concentration and urine pH were additionally detected in the therapy group. The occurrence of calcium-positive deposits in rats kidney sections was detected with the Van Koss histo-chemical method. The daily use of EG in the control group was accompanied with the oxalate nephrolithiasis progression which was indicated by hyperoxaluria, enhancing of marker enzymes activity, activation of oxidative stress in the kidney and in the blood, and forming calcium deposits in kidney. The treatment of experimental nephrolithiasis with raw material from pork kidneys led to the significant reduction of oxaluria, pronounced decrease of marker enzymes activity: LDH, GGT, NAG, and reduction of oxidative stress. The significant reduction in calcium deposits number and their sizes was confirmed by morphological studies. Thus, the evidence of significant effectiveness of raw material from pork kidneys as the experimental oxalate nephrolithiasis therapy means has been revealed in the research.
