Role of structural factors in improving the corrosion resistance of refractories

1993
The corrosion resistance of refractories depends on their structure, on the size and nature of the pore distribution in the articles, which determine the depth and mechanism of reaction between refractory and corroding agents from metallurgical production, and also on the presence of active, highly refractory materials in the capillaries of the refractory, capable of reacting with the penetrating melt to form infusible compounds or solid solution.
