Cultura del agua, multinaturalismo y prosopografía

2019
The article deals with the relations between the paradigm of multinaturalism and the profusion of aquatic geniuses in Mediterranean and Iberian mythology in particular. For this, it is based on the description of prosopographic patterns underlying the different mythological personifications of water. One can think of the extrapolation of this diversity and richness of figures to the social sphere, understanding that they are fabulations that embody the water memory of a community through its Intangibles (thus, wild or wild water would be incarnated in teriomorphic figures), which should be valued as a substantial element of the water culture. The main challenge is to visualize this culture and recover its practices, symbolism and languages from a renewed perspective, for example in relation to ecofeminism and other critical trends that defend the need to recover traditional knowledge and generate new water narratives, which reconcile the ancestral narratives with the new social and ecological demands.
