Game theory based hybrid frequency assignment with net filter discrimination constraints

2018
Abstract In this letter, we propose a game-theory based heuristics for assigning frequency resources in communication systems. We suggest an algorithm that combines centralized and distributed behavior under the consideration of net filter discrimination (NFD) which leads to efficient usage of frequency resources. We show that by applying the heuristics, (because we applied a distributed algorithm that uses local information only) we can do the following: maximize the sum of users’ signal-to-interference-noise-ratio (SINR), minimize the standard deviation of SINRs between users, and also reduce the computational complexity. All of these achievements concern crucial issues in, for example, military communications where users need high-quality communication, less probability of isolation, rapid action corresponding to rapidly-varying military situations.
