Silent chain power transmission device

2001
A silent chain power transmission device is disclosed having an endless toothed chain (C) and a gear. The chain (C) includes link plates (100a, 100b, 100c), each having teeth that are profiled by inner and outer tooth surfaces (1, 2). The inner tooth surfaces (1) are identical with axially arranged tooth profiles of a hob for forming the teeth of the gear. The inner and outer tooth faces (1, 2) are formed so that they satisfy the equation Hi = Ho + Hs, where Hi is a distance from a pin center line Lp which runs through the centers of pins (200) (which link plates 100a , 100b, 100c connect) to a pitch line Li of the inner tooth faces (1), Ho, and a distance from the pin center line Lp to a partial line Lo of the outer tooth faces (2) ms, an amplitude of polygonal movement of the chain (C) is , Each link plate (100a, 100b, 100c) also has a concave base surface (3), which is defined between its teeth at a position where their interfering engagement with edges of the involute teeth can be avoided, which is due to the amplitude of polygonal motion the chain (C) occurs, when the outer tooth faces (2) brought into meshing engagement with the involute teeth and set thereto.
