Stochastic Mechanics and Reliability Theory in Engineering: Part 2

2000
As a follow up to Part 1, this paper briefly and continuously introduces random temperature field, random thermal creep stress of mass concrete structures and probabilistic fracture mechanics, probabilistic analysis of engineering stability, sensitivity analysis of engineering parameters as well as random back analysis and inverse reliability problems. Some practical engineering examples in conjunction with the research performed at Hohai University are given for demonstration. Future topics of theoretical research and applications are suggested. Some comments are given on some different viewpoints on both stochastic engineering mechanics and structural reliability theory.
