A Modern Display Technology – Organic Light Emitting Diodes

The object of this paper is modern display technology i.e. Organic Light Emitting Diode in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a thin film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. It is used to create digital display in devices such as T.V. screen, computer and portable system. It has two or three layers of organic material. A major area of research is the development of white OLED devices for use in solid-state lighting applications. This device use organic carbon-based films, sandwiched together between two charged electrodes i.e. a metallic cathode and the other a transparent anode, which is usually glass.
