A process for the production of electrolytic capacitors from valve metal powders

The present invention describes a method of manufacturing an anode for electrolytic capacitors, the method comprising the steps of: a.) pressing a tantalum powder for a tantalum wire or a tantalum or a tantalum sheet around band to form a compact, b.) sintering the compact to form a porous anode body, c.) cooling the anode body, d.) treating the porous anode body with one or more gaseous or liquid oxidant (s) and e.) anodic oxidation of the treated anode body in an electrolyte to form a dielectric layer.
