Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of Cellulose Modified with Ciprofloxacin Fragments
2021
Ultrafine linen and powdered cotton celluloses were modified with fluoroquinolone antibiotic ciprofloxacin. The modification was carried out by means of interaction of cellulose tosylates with ciprofloxacin hydrochloride in DMF medium at 100°C for 25 h. The modified cellulose samples were characterized using IR and NMR 1H spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activity of the obtained samples was assessed and their bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity against gram-positive bacteria S. aureus 209 and B. cereus 8035 was revealed.
