Preparation of single-crystalline BaTi5O11 nanocrystals by hydrothermal method

2019
Abstract The single-crystalline BaTi 5 O 11 nanocrystals were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The Barium acetate (Ba(CH 3 COO) 2 ) and tetrabutyl titanate (Ti(C 4 H 9 O) 4 ) were used as the starting materials, and the NaOH was used as a pH-adjusting agent. In the aqueous precursor, the NaOH concentration was 2.0 mol/L, and the concentrations of Ba 2+ and Ti 4+ ions were 0.01 and 0.09 mol/L, respectively. As the precursor was heated at 280 °C for 20 h by the hydrothermal method, the white precipitate was formed. The white precipitate was confirmed to be the elongated BaTi 5 O 11 nanocrystals. The single-phase BaTi 5 O 11 nanocrystals were successfully synthesized.
