Ionization of organic crystals with a tunable dye laser connected to a LAMMA instrument

Abstract The coupling of a tunable laser to the LAMMA 500 microprobe has allowed us to investigate the effect of UV wavelength on the ionization of some organic cryptocrystalline films in the solid state. The first results showed a fall in the energy thresholds with reduction of the irradiating wavelength, which leads us to believe that multiphotonic absorption processes can also take place in the solid phase.
