Mejora del Sistema de Medición: Un caso aplicado a la Industria Automotriz

This paper shows the implementation of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analy ze, Improve and Control) to reduce the waste generated by the inspection process in an automotive glass industry. The study compares the amount of defects before and after with a waste index generated in the insulation area. The results demonstrates that by applying the DMAIC methodology associated to six Sigma, it was possible to provide the workers individual abilities that improved the activity of inspection supported by a standard objective, accepting the materials with at least 90 % of conformity as established in the ASTM C-103606 norm. Organizational and social communication improved by providing the worker with visual tools and the ability to compare and improve the detection of unintentional mistakes with a method of standardized work. The result of the project allowed to raise the
