Research on Co-channel Interference between LTE-R and GSM-R Wireless Networks in 900MHz

This paper mainly investigates the impact of cochannel interference between the Long Term Evolution-Railway (LTE-R) wireless channel and the Global System for Mobile Communications-Railway (GSM-R) wireless channel on the Quality of Service (QoS) of GSM-R network in 930-935MHz band. The measurement environment and measurement system are presented. The measurement results of transmission interference period ( $\mathrm{T}_{\text{TI}}$ ) and transmission recovery period ( $\mathrm{T}_{\text{REC}}$ ) in the circuit switched domain (CSD) of GSM-R network reveal the LTE-R signal received power threshold that affects the QoS of GSM-R network. This practical research can be used for evaluating the impact of co-channel interference between the LTE-R wireless channel and the GSM-R wireless channel on GSM-R network performance.
