Study of factors affecting the reliability of turbochargers

The thermal loading factors of the turbocharger affecting the reliability are considered. The ways of reducing the heat load of the turbocharger elements are analyzed. The scheme of the turbocharger rotor thermal optimization, as well as options for changing the shape of the rotor. The thermal analysis of the rotor by the finite element method is performed. The temperature distribution on the surface and in the rotor section is obtained. Composed vector representation of the heat flux at the nodes of the rotor. The conclusion about the influence of changes in the shape of the turbocharger rotor on the distribution of thermal energy is given.
