EXPERIENCIAS COTIDIANAS DE INTERCULTURALIDAD EN EL ECUADOR: EL GUARACAZO MUSICAL. DAY TO DAY INTERCULTURAL EXPERIENCES IN ECUADOR: THE GUARACA MUSIC GENRE.

El presente articulo analiza los alcances de la interculturalidad en la relacion interetnica blanco – mestiza e indigena en el Ecuador contemporaneo. Se argumenta que la musica del cantautor indigena Angel Guaraca ha logrado unir a estos dos grupos etnicos historicamente confrontados, mas alla de las fronteras etnicas y al mismo tiempo ha posibilitado la valoracion de las expresiones culturales indigenas por parte de la sociedad ecuatoriana, dentro y fuera del pais. ABSTRACT This article analyzes the scope of interculturality in relation to the white-mestizo and indigenousethnic relationship in contemporary Ecuador. It is argued that the music of the indigenous composer-singer Angel Guaraca has made it possible to unite these two historically confronted ethnic groups, beyond ethnic boundaries and at the same time has enabled the appreciation of indigenous cultural expressions by the Ecuadorian society , in and out of the country.
