Improved switching boost inverter

2016
Z source inverter overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional voltage source and current source, but its DC side current is not continuous, the voltage utilization is low and the boost factor is limited. In recent years, some scholars have proposed a new inverter — switching boost inverter (SBI). Compared with the traditional Z source inverter, the boost factor of SBI is reduced, but the cost and the voltage stress of the components are reduced. This paper presents a class of improved-SBI (ISBI) that offers several advantages when compared with a conventional SBI, including the input current is continuous, the boost voltage factor has been improved. The topology has one more active switch and inductor compared with SBI. The operating principle bases on PWM control method. The simulation results verify the class of improved-switching boost inverter is reasonable and feasible.
