Brief Description of Program

The Ecosystem Enhancement Program may provide funds to local governments and non-profit conservation organizations for the purchase of land in fee simple or conservation easements to be held in perpetuity by the local government. The Ecosystem Enhancement Program restores degraded wetlands and riparian areas on these sites to re-establish wetland functions that are vital for improving water quality, floodwater storage capacity, and wildlife habitats.
