The evolution of agricultural cooperatives in Canary researcher has received increased attention in re- cent years. The number of publications round fortnight, with most of the work sector or business type. The reduced payroll cooperatives, compared to other Spanish regions, seems to be the cause of this late and little interest in the analysis of this issue. Not surprisingly, the existing institutions such areas longest established the cooperative have attracted more research. The effort in the Islands, meritorious undoubtedly has some gaps, as that would explain the reasons behind the limited partnership interests of island farmers. A circumstance which may be only apparent, as there are other forms of group interests were more important in the agricultural sector of the archipelago , such as communities of water or commercial companies. This study addresses some of the issues we consider most rel- evant to the development of agricultural associations in the Canaries, as the low level of co-operation over the past century. It then presents the path followed by other forms of non- agricultural cooperative associations. And finally,
