Insight into gross compositions cracking of crude oil based on simulated experiments in opened system

2011
Cracking simulated experiment on gross compositions of crude oil was carried out. The geochemical analysis results show that gross compositions of crude oil have a similar variation feature with the increasing thermal stress, high carbon number hydrocarbons cracked to form low carbon number hydrocarbons, high temperature cracking products are composed of C 1–5 hydrocarbon gas, benzene and its homologues. However, there is subtle difference reflected by the different temperature of C 1–5 hydrocarbon gas generation. For saturated hydrocarbons, C 1–5 hydrocarbon gas can be detected at 550°C, but for the aromatic hydrocarbons, non-hydrocarbon and pyrobitumen, C 1–5 hydrocarbon gas can be determined at 400°C.
