High-frequency jet ventilation in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Abstract High-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) during anesthesia offers excellent airway protection, minimal patient discomfort, minimal trauma to nasal passages and the larynx, prevention of aspiration, and reduced discomfort during emergence. Four cases are described in which HFJV was effectively used.
