The results of experimental investigation of the process of the deformation and exhaustion of the bearing capacity of cylindrical shells having initial shape imperfections in the form of lateral indentations of different configurations are presented. Loading is accomplished by an axial compressive force. The variation in the pattern of deflection development for shells with different lateral indentations is noted.
