Differences and Inter-Relations between Psycho and Group Analysis

1982
It is a truism to say that group analysis, although born from psychoanalysis, is totally different and can’t be reduced to it. As a matter of fact, the differences between the setting and the methodology in psycho and group analysis have been repeatedly emphasized, the epistemology of their nature still remaining to be clearly resolved. Some authors consider indeed the group analysis as a psychoanalysis carried out in a group, a sort of rotatory psychoanalysis.
