Production of modified epoxy composition

PURPOSE: To extremely effectively obtain the subject composition, having a high dispersibility of rubber-like particles and excellent in various characteristics such as adhesion by coagulating and pulverizing a rubber-like polymer latex and uniformly dispersing the resultant powder in an epoxy group-containing compound. CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is obtained by blending and uniformly dispersing (A) rubber-like polymer powder prepared by coagulating and pulverizing a rubber-like polymer latex and having ≤0.5mm particle diameter in (B) a compound having epoxy group. Specifically, the composition is preferably obtained by coagulating the rubber-like polymer latex according to a method for adding a coagulant such as calcium chloride, etc., then subjecting the coagulated substance to dehydrating and/or drying treatment until the moisture content becomes <15wt.%, subsequently pulverizing the resultant substance to ≤0.5mm particle diameter to obtain the component (A) and mixing and dispersing the component (A) with in the component (B) with a shearing stirring mixer, etc. Furthermore, e.g. a polymer composed of methacrylic acid, divinylbenzene and butadiene is cited as the rubber-like polymer.
