Dielectric barrier prechamber

There is described a pre-chamber spark plug (100) for igniting a fuel-air mixture in a main combustion chamber. The pre-chamber spark plug (100) includes a prechamber (101), which one or more, having at the main combustion chamber leading channels (105). The pre-chamber spark plug (100) is adapted to effect a dielectrically impeded discharge in the pre-chamber (101) for causing an ignition of the mixture in the precombustion chamber is caused by a pilot injection through the one or more channels (105) to ignite the fuel-air mixture in the main combustion chamber.
