Influence of carbonized rice husk in different substrates on quality of tomato seedlings.

2012
This study was conducted in order to define the influence of proportions of rice husk in different substrates on the quality of tomato seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with four replications. The 20 treatments were arranged in a 4x5 factorial scheme, being the first factor consisted of four substrates (PlantHort I, PlantHort II, PlantHort III and Bioplant®) and the second consisting of five proportions carbonized rice husk CAC (0, 25, 50, 75 e 100%). The plants were evaluated 24 days after sowing. The best quality indices of tomato seedlings were obtained with addition of 24, 25, 26 and 38% of CAC in the substrates PlantHort I, PlantHort II, PlantHort III and Bioplant®, respectively. The substrate PlantHort I conditions with higher quality tomato seedlings in relation to other substrates in all proportions of rice husk used.
